  • 1. For security reasons, I like to lock out members from using online banking until they actually want to use it. But with non-use expiration and automatic deactivation features turned on, how do I run any sort of online banking promotion? Public
    Preview
If you: A) automatically deactivate online banking access for all new members, and B) expire online banking passwords due to non-use after 90 days, then how do you run an online banking promotion? Of course you could have them call the credit union to get set up, but here's another idea: Set up a special promotional period! Pick a date to start your campaign. Advert  More...

  • 4. If I opened a mortgage loan in February but didn't disburse it until March, what balance will reported in Box 2 of the 1098 form as the beginning balance for the year? Public
    Preview
For loans opened during the same tax year, the system uses the end-of-month balance from the same month when the account was opened for the beginning balance reported on form 1098. Since the loan was opened in February but not disbursed during February, that EOM balance will be 0.00, which is what will appear on the 1098 form for that tax year. Remember that CU*BASE does retain balances for every loan for every day of the year, which is why we must use a balance from the end-of-month snapshot.  More...

  • 7. How do I set up a loan so that the payment is due on the last day of the month, and automatically changes according to the number of days in each month? Public
    Preview
When setting up the loan request, enter a First payment date that is the appropriate month-end date. For example, if creating a loan request on August 25, you would specify that the first payment is due on September 30. Then enter a 31 into the Payment day field. This will trigger the system always to use the last day of any given month going forward (31, or 30, or 28 or 29 for February). • 9. Why does the Fee Refunds History by Employee dashboard (Tool #370) return different results when I run it at different times, even for the same date range? Public
    Preview
In this tool, you can request which date range to view. For example, in February, you can view Jan 1 through Jan 31. However, if you run this same date range in March, you may see different results. This is because this dashboard requires a MASTER record (an open membership) to display the refunds for that account. If a member received a refund, then subsequently closed their account, the total count of fee refunds are no longer displayed, thus resulting in different counts.

  • 15. I am running the Selective Loan Information Report (Tool #788) to get a loan trial balance, and I want to use the "Last disbursed" date range to see loans disbursed during a particular month. There are a couple of loans that were disbursed on the last day of that month but they aren't on the report. What is happening? Public

For example, a member uses online banking after midnight on the 1st but we haven't yet done EOD for the 31st, then the last disbursed date on that loan account record will still be recorded as the 1st (the activity   More...
